Operation above CTSR enters the constant-horsepower speed range (CPSR) where rated or burst torque must be linearly reduced with increasing speed to continue safe operation. The “motor CTSR” and torque determines the need for additional gearing to meet the “load CTSR” — let BEM design SYNCHRO-SYM to meet your load CTSR without a gearbox.

Note: Offering little insight into usable performance, “Maximum Speed” is often flaunted as a performance metric instead of a reasonable dynamic mechanical limit.

Note: As the only unified, turnkey electric motor-generator circuit and control system, SYNCHRO-SYM’s controller and electric machine components cannot be sold separately — the loss, size, weight, and cost of our integral BRTEC controller are always included in SYNCHRO-SYM performance results, including dimensions and mass.

Note: A meaningful comparison requires EMS contestants to be evaluated at the same CTSR, torque, voltage, and frequency. Only under these equal conditions do true comparisons emerge, such as the EMS peak power density, peak specific power, peak torque, system cost, and peak nominal efficiency at the same safe-operating burst duration (at least 10 seconds with rated active cooling, which is the real-world acceleration window).
